Exploration of Death:
Solo Movement Art Performance Featuring
Liv Schaffer
April 16, 2017
3pm - 5pm
Like Diego Rivera's Katrina, the Danse Macabre, reminds us of the universality of death -- no matter one's station in life, the Dance of Death unites and comes to us all.
Join us for a solo performance featuring movement artist, Liv Schaffer, who will perform her interpretation of Danse Macabre through purposefully sequenced human movement. Liv will also discuss her movement films, which will be shown during the Exploration of Death exhibit.

Liv is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and educator based in the Bar Area. Liv graduated from Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program at Dominican University of California in 2013, and spent the 2013-2015 seasons dancing with DanceWorks Chicago under direction of Julie Nakagawa. Liv embraces employment opportunity nationwide; developing integrative arts curriculum, educating dancers, performing, and creating choreographic commissions with organizations such as Youth Art Exchange, Dance Mission Theater, Jacob's Pillow Curriculum in Motion®, The JUNTOS Collective, Western Michigan University, Southern Exposure, and Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA & Summer Programs. Currently, you can spot Liv dancing with AXIS Dance Company in Oakland, where she joined in August of 2016.
